Causes of erectile dysfunction

Erectile Dysfunction

Erectile Dysfunction is real.  Even if its just a after a night of drinking.  No being able to perform is a serious problem for men.  Its effect who we are and who we think we are.  Most guys can’t bring home a girl every night.  When you get lucky and that hottie comes home with you, you HAVE to perform.  You might night get a second chance.  Alcohol might be an aphrodisiac, giving confidence and easing inhibitions but alcoholic drinks and other drugs can ruin your ability to perform.

There are lots of issues about the result of alcohol intake on sexual overall health and also the potential on the drink to interfere with libido and climax scenarios. Erectile dysfunction is likely the best frequent sexual disorder amongst adult males within the United States with about 300,000 situations diagnosed each year moreover to the vast the greater part of unreported conditions. To fully grasp the romantic relationship concerning alcohol and erectile dysfunction, the method of achieving an erection desires to be understood. The brain is stimulated as a result of physical (touch) and sensory perceptions and it directs the muscle tissue on the penis to relax and this promotes blood flow towards penis. The stress exerted through the incoming blood expands the penis, thereby making an erection. The potential to sustain the erection depends upon the capacity of the penile muscle tissue to keep the bloodstream for a certain time period.

Buy why does alcohol do this?  We love our whisky, our beer, we live for a cold one.  How can it let us down. Why does alcohol cause erectile dysfunction.  Does a male enhancement product work.

Alcohol is a central nervous system depressant. Alcohol acts by inhibiting parts of the central nervous system important for sexual arousal and orgasm — respiration, circulation and sensitivity of nerve endings.

Alcohol dehydrates the body. Sexual arousal needs a certain amount of blood to bring oxygen and greater sensation to the genitals.

Alcohol can make getting an erection more difficult. Large amounts of alcohol (or long-term) consumption has been associated with problems getting erections. Dehydration with drinking causes less blood volume and a rise in angiotensin, the hormone associated with erectile dysfunction. Alcohol’s inhibition of the central nervous system also contributes to the problem.

Alcohol can cause vaginal dryness. The dehydration common when drinking alcohol can contribute to fatigue, headaches and vaginal dryness.

Alcohol can delay or prevent orgasm. In 2004, a study found 11% of alcohol users were likely to have problems reaching orgasm. The men had difficulty ejaculating while the women needed much more stimulation to have an orgasm than women who had little or nothing to drink.

Male Enhancement to the rescue!

There are many over the counter male enhancement products. One report stated that there are over 100 “Boner Pills” on the market.  They contain herbs, plant extracts, amino acids, and vitamins.  Several countries manufacture Sex pills.  The best are American made.  Foreign pills should be avoided due to unknown or inconsistant manufacturing and ingredients.  The most popular pill is Endurnz, an all natural supplement made in the USA.

There are many erectile enhancement pill free trials.  Look for the ones with free shipping and handeling.  Never provide a credit card number to receive a fee sample for any reason.  The worst companies will sign you up for a subscription after the free sample and charge you credit card on a regular bases.  It can be difficult or impossible to get them to stop the charges unless you cancel you own credit card and deal with the inconvenance of ordering a new one.

A recent study suggested that 40% of college males that weekend binge drink take a male enhancement supplement before drinking to improve their sexual performance if they get lucky.

Also some men attest to the powerful natural ingredients in Extenze, Endurnz and other male enhancement supplements  in treating hang-overs the next day.  Robert, a 20 something college student in Michigan, takes a male enhancement pill before he starts drinking for performance and one in the morning for the hang over.  “These things are packed full of vitamines and stuff.  They are awesome and you can get them cheap on line.”

What Type of Alcohol Should You Drink?

Alcoholic beverages are not created equal. Some are more potent than the rest when it comes to their male enhancement properties.

Of all drinks, beer is probably the least powerful aphrodisiac because it contains a low percentage of alcohol. You would have to chug a lot of beers to raise your testosterone to a comfortable level. Most beers are very filling and can give you a stomachache if you drink too many. Beer can also make you feel bloated and pee a lot.

However, some special beers have been used as libido enhancers. Irish brewer Murphy’s created a beer containing oyster extracts and markets it as an aphrodisiac drink.

Wine is a classic aphrodisiac, particularly when infused with spices. For example, red Burgundy wine mixed with ginger, cinnamon, cloves, vanilla, and sugar is known as Hippocras’ Aphrodisiac. Wine is also known to help set the mood for lovemaking.

Port wine, which originated in Portugal, is believed to be one of the most potent aphrodisiac alcoholic beverages in the world. It is said to promote lovemaking, especially when served with strawberries. White port wine appears to have more aphrodisiac properties than the red variety.

Some liquor developed in old monasteries, such as Benedictine and green Chartreuse, are known libido boosters. The world-renowned Crema de Damiana of Mexico is a light sweet liquor made with the aromatic herb Damiana which is a known natural aphrodisiac.

The science behind alcohol and a flaccid penis

Alcohol has long been determined as a risk factor for erectile dysfunction. A number of medical literatures and articles have been published; discussing the risk factors that alcohol intake brings to ED cases. While alcohol intoxication increases sexual desire,  various levels of alcohol intake were found to inhibit sexual performance, and that includes the ability to get and maintain and erection that is form enough to sustain sexual intercourse. Alcohol is a depressant. Understandably, it affects the sequence of brain stimulations, which initiates the process of getting and maintaining an erection. This is one reason why male enhancement products are so popular with healthy guys in their teens and 20s.

A person’s nervous system is very much involved in his body’s sexual activities. At certain levels of alcohol intake, a person may enhance his sexual desires. However, continual drinking already inhibits his capacity and ability to perform. Once alcohol gets into the body, it causes the blood vessels in the penis to dilate or expand. Although an erection is already achieved in this stage, the blood vessels will remain open, causing the blood to drain out more quickly. In effect, the penis returns to its relaxed state, making sexual intercourse impossible or difficult if not entirely ineffective.

The Role Alcohol in Testosterone

The resarchers found that concentrations of testosterone increased fourfold in the frontal cortex and threefold in the plasma of the un-operated rats 30 minutes after alcohol administration. Rats had testosterone concentrations that were only five percent of those found in the un-operated rats after alcohol injection. The findings demonstrated that alcohol oxidation is directly linked to testosterone biosynthesis, the authors said.

Rasmussen said, his findings join those of two other studies in which alcohol administration increased plasma testosterone levels in a gender- and dose-dependent manner.
Rasmussen suggested that future research build upon and add to previous findings regarding alcohol’s effects on testosterone. “It would be important to determine whether lower dosages of alcohol, which do not induce rapid pronounced intoxication and ataxia, would also produce the acute increase in testosterone, and whether this response to lower dosages would be consistent across different strains of rats.

Cocaine and ED

But how does cocaine lead to erectile dysfunction?  Does cocaine cause to ED?  One journal points out that it basically greatly accelerates the aging of the arteries, leading to accelerated plaques and calcification.   Another study found that chronic cocaine use lead to chronically elevated CRP levels, which  is one of the leading risk factors for heart disease.  It lowered ejaculatory volume, seminal vesicular and prostatic secretions by over half!  Cocaine lowers baseline testosterone levels by 43% {read more}
